I am not one for horror flicks (though I hesitate to even call this a scary movie), but every now and then I give them a chance to make a liar out of me. Paranormal just reiterated how I always felt: unmoved, irritated at the stupidity of the characters, and smugly aware that my writing is way effin better than those screen writers. I was however impressed by how simple this film was, and yet how much buzz it created.
For starters, there is only one set: the house; one camera (so not a lot of editing to complete), 4 actors (unless you count the invisible monster), and shoddy footage to reflect the "authentic" look of the film. SO not a lot of major work or money needed for the making of this stupid movie; they did make a bundle though. Who's the stupid one now, you ask? I mean it beat Saw VI at the box office!
Well I'll sleep comfortably tonight knowing I didn't have to pay to see it. In fact, I could probably sleep comfortably through the movie itself. The only chance of a nightmare evoked from this movie would be if I would've actually paid to see it. (Damn, I knew I should've seen Saw.)
Life's too short, don't see Paranormal.
