Twilight: New Moon trailer

I am not a Twi-hard. In fact, I hated the books so much that I couldn't even finish the saga. While I'm sure that I'm offending all of you who wasted your time on the books (and probably only like the series because its the only 4 books you've read in one year's span), I have a valid point when I remind you that even though the plot moves forward, the main character develops into NOTHING.

Okay, I cheated, I read up on Wikipedia (I am a self-proclaimed wiki whore) what transpires in the books. Bella is in a love triangle, she still only loves Edward, and Jake holds unrequited love for her. *Yawn*. Got it. The reason, I love the movie so much is because it cuts out all the boring bullshit that the book superfluously gives. Edward and Jake come to life outside of Bella's own drone perspective when on screen.

I saw the preview of the movie today and felt excited to see it. I will see it and will most likely like it. I hated the book (did I already mention that?), but can't wait for the theatrical justification for this story line. As far as that excitement takes me, I can't say that the books made me anticipate the movie, but rather the trailer itself that reminded me how cool the first movie was.

On a positive note, I'm glad someone like Stephanie Meyers was able to achieve such success with such mediocre character development. It only means the competition really isn't that high out there.
